Herold is on the border of the Klein Karoo and
the Southern Cape, high in the Outeniqua’s. The
nearest town is George. George is at the center
of the Garden Route and nestles at the foot of
the Outeniqua’s next to the coast at the eastern
end of the Western Cape Province. Its
Mediterranean type climate allows for outdoor
activities all year round. Visit the area for
sun, sea and sand, forests, game parks, lakes,
magnificent scenery, wild flowers and Xhosa
culture. The airport connects one to and from
all the main centers in South Africa and the
main roads and rail link with the Klein Karoo.

Herold Wines is a small family
operation, 16 km from George and is accessed via
the historic Montagu Pass. It lies in a secluded
valley overlooked by the Outeniqua’s highest
point, Cradock Peak. Producing cool climate
Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc the cellar is
open for tours, tasting, sales and teas, and the
farm for mountain fynbos or vineyard walks and
picnics from Monday to Saturday.
