Synonymous with Ladismith is Towerkop
("Magic Mountain"), that shelters the
town - the logical choice for the
cellar's flagship label. It also speaks
of our deep-rootedness in Ladismith and
Kleine Karoo-winemaking since the cellar
began operating independently in 1939.
At
the beginning of 2005, the cellar joined
forces with the neighbouring Barrydale Cellar and formed Southern Cape
Vineyards, an umbrella company, to share
and exchange technology and capacity to
make the most - and the best - of the
resources available to them.

Meet the tasting room personnel.
Sue-Mari Calitz is the new face behind the
wine counter at Ladismith Cellar. Her
duties include administration, presenting
wine tastings and handling wine sales. She
comes from Calitzdorp and has a sister and a
brother – both winemakers!
Her favourite wine from the cellar:
The Ladismith Pinotage and Ladismith
Ruby Cabernet – drinkable wines with soft
tannins.
Fact about Sue-Marie you probably did not
know:
She loves ribs, sushi and her Jack
Russell.
