Kango Wines has
quite a diverse product range and the
tasting room in the middle of town is
well worth a visit. Their flagship wines
are from the Swartberg range and grapes
as far from Prince Albert are bottled. Their
brandy is also popular with interesting
variations like buchu and ginger.
The cellar is also
the first in the region who engaged in
an empowerment transaction with its
factory workers and farm labourers. This
deal is unique in the sense that for the
first time farm workers were empowered
in a different way than by acquiring
farmland, but rather gaining access to a
processing plant that has a direct link
to type of farming in the Klein Karoo.
Employees working for the Co-op get to
share in the business in which they
work, thus promoting commitment and
productivity. |
